Our priest had a different view in his homily. The message I got was that the Lord had the "same reward" for each of us when we get to heaven. It didn't matter if we'd known Him our whole life or converted on our death bed. His love was the same for everyone. I had never heard this analogy and I found it interesting. You may remember doing a confirmation retreat for St. Joe's in West Winfield a while back. Well, we have a small group preparing again. Today, they had a visit from Father Michael. When these young adults were in 9th grade, he was the semenarian they prayed for. I think, they were surprised about his road to becoming a priest. We also let them know that you are their semenarian now. I would like to share your blog with them but since they are under 18 I thought I should ask your permission first. This group has a few 'inquiring' minds even though it is one of our smaller groups. I would like to give them opportunities to explore. I see you often draw on experiences you've had in the past. I must tell you that in my opinion, I like to hear priests associate the readings with their own life experience. It seems to "bring the message home" so to speak!! When you give these reflections from the pulpit, how long do they take? I see that all is still well with you... I just read your bit about conversations with God not being closed conversations - how true! In the past, I have been afraid to share what I've gotten in prayer for fear that I'm hearing God wrong or something. Now I tell other people about it and I get counsel about it, etc. Like you having people tell you your whole life that you would be a priest, I have had people telling me that I would make a good pastor, so I hope that God keeps on building up those gifts in me. Are you still composing music at all?
